PORTLAND, OREGON

In the summer of 2021, Alec and I visited Portland, Oregon and got to explore the rainy, moody city for 5 days during our weekend getaway.

STAYS

  • Canopy by Hilton- mid-century modern style vibes with great staff and located in a safe area with easy access to all of the major things to do and see in the city. â€‹

FOOD

  • Pine State Biscuitshands down the best biscuits ever located in a very modern, moody restaurant. The wait can be long so get there early but it is so worth it!

  • McCormick & Schmick's Harborside at the Marina- beautiful restaurant, great for dinner, overlooking the marina with a very romantic ambiance.

  • Stumptowncute, modern coffee shop with some of our favorite beans that we get from Trade.

  • Voodoo Doughnuts- the infamous doughnuts with only a few storefronts in the U.S. that have the most unique, quirky doughnuts you can think of.

  • The 1905the perfect dinner spot with food, booze, and live jazz music that will turn any night into a romantic one.

  • Too Wrongs- funky, modern cocktail lounge that also serves food but would definitely suggest it more for just drinks.

  • Bowery Bagels- local bagel shop with fresh, new bagels daily.

  • Afuri- first location outside of Japan with the most authentic, fresh ingredients that make every option on the menu a good one.

  • PDX Cookie Co.- delicious dessert storefront with tons of fresh, sweet treats to pick from.

DRINKS

  • Capture Beer Bus- the perfect hidden gem filled with a variety of food/drink trucks + picnic tables to enjoy whichever option you pick from in the heart of the city.

  • Rogue Eastside- indoor + outdoor brewery with tons of beers & seltzers.

  • Deschutes- sit-down restaurant with a wide variety of beers and cocktails to choose from.

  • Teardrop- the coolest and most romantic bar, perfect for a late night cap to end a date night!

  • River Pig Saloon- authentic, western saloon with tons of tvs to watch some sports at.

ACTIVITIES

  • Grand Central Bowl- great indoor option when it's rainy in Portland that offers bowling, arcade games, and more.

  • Portland Zoo- educational, beautiful zoo with tons of unique animals that you don't typically get to see when visiting zoos in the south.

  • Powell's Bookstorethe world's largest bookstore which is a must see when visiting the city of Portland!
