When living in California, Alec and I took every opportunity to travel to all of the different cities throughout the state and of course this historic city was no exception. Check out all of our recommendations when traveling to the all the touristy spots in northern California.

  • The Dorian- modern day bohemian style parlor with super fun slushie drinks and a great brunch!

  • Hi Tops- sports bar with tons of food and drink options + tvs galore.

  • Bar Bocce- beautiful patio restaurant overlooking the Sausalito harbor.

  • Sweet Maple- the best brunch spot in San Fran with million dollar bacon that is to die for!

  • Alcatraz Island- never been but super high on my list to visit this island and take a night tour!

  • Golden Gate Bridge- the monumental staple in San Francisco that is a must see when visiting the city.

  • Golden Gate Park- the park + visitors center right by the Golden Gate Bridge with tons of info around & a souvenir shop too.

  • Dolores Park- open field park in the center of the city with a beautiful skyline view and tons of people + activities.

  • Chinatown- cute, authentic area to walk around to shop, eat, and just explore.

  • Little Italy- vibrant area where the Coit Tower, Washington Square Park, and dozens of Italian restaurants are located.

  • Lombard street- steep and windey road with beautiful greenery on every turn.

  • Muir Woods- beautiful forest and National Monument with tons of Redwood Trees.

  • Pier 39 + Fisherman’s wharf- super fun area with tons of shopping & restaurants + seals!

  • San Francisco Cable Cars- the infamously cute cable cars + the best way to get around the hilly downtown!

  • Baker's Beach- beach with a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge, but beware it is a nude beach so probably best for only adults.

  • Washington Square Park- beautiful park with a breathtaking cathedral near by.

  • Painted Ladies- the infamous pastel painted houses from Full House in Alamo Square Park.
