Napa + San Fransisco, CA

Our itinerary

Day 1:

Friday morning we hit the ground running because we had so much to see & do this weekend. Jamie & I both love working out & taking new & exciting classes together. So we started our morning off right by taking a spin class at Cycle Society in Downtown Napa. The instructor, ,was so motivational & made the class super sweaty but still fun! We even got to see a couple hot air balloons fly right over us throughout the class.

After class we headed back to Jamie & her roommate's house for a quick breakfast bite at The Couch (lol) before heading to our wine tastings. Jamie made reservations ahead of time for all of our tasting which is required in California right now. Our first tasting was at Mumm. They started us off with a complimentary glass of champagne to help prepare our pallets before the tasting. We all decided to do the Reserver Tasting which includes 3 wines; 2016 Blanc de Noris, Brut Reserve Rosé, & 2021 DVX Brut. All were super sweet and bubbly which was my fave! Once we finished our tasting & taking pictures of course, we headed to our next tasting which was at CakeBread. During this tasting we got to sample a couple of different red & white wines which were all very wonderful. Next we headed to our tasting at Black Stallion. We ended up getting a bottle of the 2019 Limited Release Napa Valley Albarino which was super highly recommended to us by our server + the charcuterie board. I think our vote for prettiest wine venue would be CakeBread, the friendliest & most knowledgeable wine venue was Mumm, and Black Stallion was super chill + laid back which made it the perfect one to end on. After our 3 tasting we were super tired, so we Ubered back to the house for a quick recharge + refresh before dinner.

Our dinner reservations were at Ristorante Allegria which was located in downtown Napa, only a couple minutes from Jamie + her roommate's house. For drinks I ordered the Bellatini & Alec got the Rock Hill Farms Bourbon, both drinks were right up our alleys. For food Alec ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro & I got the Penne con Pollo, which was to die for. I wish I could have eaten it all but their serving sizes were huge & everything was super flavorful + rich. Once we paid the check & ordered our Ubers, we went back to the house for roomie game night. We played Telestrations After Dark, which ended our night with unforgettable memories + endless belly laughs.

Day 2:

Saturday morning was another early morning because we were spending the day in the bay! After getting ready & loading up the car, we headed from Napa to San Francisco which is only about an hour drive give or take. Once we got there we quickly parked (after checking ALL the signs thoroughly to ensure we didn't get a ticket or towed) & headed to our brunch reservations at The Dorian. Unfortunately in the state of California we are still unable to eat inside of restaurants however, this place had the coolest aesthetic inside. It was like a mix of moody with a touch of modern that I completely fell in love with. We all ordered their infamous Nerd Frose which was super sweet and tasty. After I accidentally spilled mine all over the table though Alec kindly gave me his & he ordered the El Sully Lager beer instead which worked out because the drink was too sweet for him anyway. For food we started with the Truffle Fries, which were incredible, then I ordered the Billionaire’s Breakfast Burrito, Alec got the Big D Breakfast, and Jamie got the Dorian Huevos Rancheros. Everything was super delish but the best thing we ate by far was the Billionaire's Bacon. It was thick cut bacon with maple syrup, absolutely mouth watering goodness!

After we wrapped up at brunch we headed to explore the city. Unfortunately we had bought tickets to tour Alcatraz (something that has been on my bucket list forever) however they ended up shutting down again & giving us a refund due to the pandemic. So instead we headed to the Golden Gate Bridge to walk around & take pics. The main exit, 39, pops up quickly when rocking out to jams & sightseeing, so we accidentally ended up on the opposite side of the bridge. Luckily still a great spot to see the bridge + the city in the background, so turned out to be a very happy accident. After grabbing all the pics we wanted, we headed to grab a bite + drinks at Hi Tops with the crew. We ended up splitting the warm soft pretzel to tide us over for dinner while Alec sipped on a marg on the rocks & I enjoyed a fruity cocktail. Once we finished our little happy hour, we headed to Dolores Park to watch the sunset & soak up the gorgeous weather.

After the sun went down, we drove to dinner at Bar Bocce which is located in Sausalito not too far out of the city. They don’t accept reservations at this time however, we were able to join the waitlist online so we didn’t have to sit outside the restaurant forever. We decided to start with the meatball app & split the Pesto Chicken Pizza before driving back to Napa for the night. Shoutout to Jamie & her roomies for all the amazing dinner recs, literally didn’t eat or drink at a place we didn’t love!

Day 3:

Sunday morning we got up, packed our bags, & headed for the Sonoma Plaza. We ate brunch at the cutest little restaurant called Sunflower Caffé. It's the type of restaurant where you wait in line to order, then a server brings your food to your table of choice, which was nice because no reservations are needed. I ordered the Sunflower Grilled Cheese + tomato soup, Alec got the Breakfast Burrito, while Jamie got the American Breakfast meal. After we ordered we walked through the restaurant to the back patio which was breathtaking. They had the cutest garden area covered with twinkly lights, vines, and even a beautiful water fountain in the center of it all. Once we finished all of our savory meals we walked around the downtown square for a bit checking out all the unique boutique shops. Then we headed back to the car to drive a little over an hour to the San Francisco airport to head back to the lovely LA.

Shoutout to my dearest + lifelong bestie for planning the perfect weekend getaway in Napa + San Francisco for us! We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend sightseeing, laughing, & making memories together.

Where to stay

We got to stay with my friend Jamie and her roommates again in their new house in Napa Proper however, there are tons of great options for housing for the weekend. There are a lot of super cute Airbnbs or Vrbos in the area, as well as chain hotels. I'll link a few of my faves for you to check out!
